This is a custom made light fitting, we make each one to order. The fitting started as a solid 120 year old British railway sleeper. It was then taken to a local stonemason who spent over 15 hours hand filing the sleeper out from behind to reduce the weight. The whole sleeper has been hollowed out like a boat. This also gave us space behind to fix the lighting junction boxes and cable. We then took the sleeper to a local blacksmiths who hand forged the iron brackets which hold the body of the sleeper and provide the fixing hooks for the chain supports. He also made the custom metal ceiling plate from which the mains cable comes. The whole fitting weighs over 30kg so should be supported from a solid beam or RSJ. We then wired the 10 pendant drops and wrapped them around the width of the wood. We chose the dark aged brown twisted vintage look cable complimented with antique lamp holders. This fitting is a one off piece.
